| A
Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) process
is used to manufacture cast urethane
parts. All-State Industries Inc process
many different types of pre-polymers
and extenders. A pre-polymer urethane
and a cross linking extender are dynamically
mixed together at a specific ratio,
this ratio is PLC controlled. Colors
are directly injected into the parts
at the mixing head. The raw materials
are injected under low pressure through
a hose into a heated mold. Once the
material has cured the parts are de-molded
from the tool. The finished parts
are then post cured for 16 hours.
Once the parts are fully cured they
are manually trimmed and assembled
if required. |
