Teflon (PTFE, Polytetrafluoroethylene)
Teflon PTFE is a member of the Fluoropolymer family and has unmatched chemical resistance, even at high temperatures. PTFE has the lowest coefficient of friction of all engineering plastics, and can be used to temperatures exceeding 550 degrees.
Typical Applications:
Slides
Packings
Valve Seats
Poppets
Wear bands
Insulators
Bushings
Washers
Rollers
Connectors
Piston rings
Seals
PTFE Benefits:
Low coefficient of friction
Chemically inert
Impact resistance
Excellent dielectric properties
FDA, USDA compliant
Formulations:
Unfilled Virgin - Low impurities
Mechanical Grade - Lower cost
Glass Filled - Increased strength
Graphite Filled - Enhanced wear resistance
Carbon Filled - Increased strength and wear resistance
MD Filled - Increased stability
Bronze Filled - Best strength
