Nylon (PA, Polyamide)
Nylon is one of the most versatile and widely used engineering plastics. Nylon has excellent wear characteristics, a great strength to weight ratio, and good toughness—making it an ideal replacement for a variety of metals and composites. The material is non-abrasive to mating surfaces and can be used to reduce or eliminate lubrication in bearing applications.
Typical Applications:
• Bushings
• Bearings
• Slide Pads
• Wheels
• Rollers
• Sheaves
• Pulleys
• Cams
• Gears
• Sprockets
• Guides
• Sleeves
• Thrust Washers
• Insulators
• Spacers
Nylon Benefits:
• High Strength and Toughness
• Excellent wear resistance
• Superior abrasion resistance
• Large range of size and shape availability
• FDA, USDA, and 3-A Dairy compliant formulations
