Acetal (POM, Polyoxymethylene)
Acetal is one of the most widely used engineering plastics available with excellent strength and rigidity. Its dimensional stability, low moisture absorption, and hard surface make it ideal for close tolerance machined components. Acetal has very good wear resistance in wet environments, and is FDA, USDA, and 3-A Dairy compliant. Both grades of the material –Homopolymer and Copolymer—exhibit these characteristics. Homopolymer material has slightly higher strength, while the Copolymer material is porosity free.
